Company of Heroes 3 could release on consoles in 2023 following PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S ratings by the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee.
SEGA Corporation’s upcoming real-time strategy game, Company of Heroes 3, has been one of the most anticipated titles in the franchise. After being delayed, the game is now finally slated for release for Windows PC on 23rd February 2023; however, more recent reports suggest that it might be debuting on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles next year, too.
According to Gematsu, Company of Heroes 3 was rated in Taiwan by the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee on 18th November 2022. Accordingly, the rating report showed registrations for the following platforms: Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, suggesting the game will not be a PC-exclusive title.
Noteworthy, neither publisher SEGA nor the developer Relic Entertainment has officially announced that the game will release on console; however, given the latest Taiwanese rating report, it’s safe to assume that it will debut alongside the PC version of Company of Heroes 3 in February 2023. If not, then it’s likely that Company of Heroes 3 will release on current-gen consoles around the same time as the PC version or possibly later in the year.
Company of Heroes 3 is a sequel to its acclaimed predecessor Company of Heroes 2, set in World War II. Players will assume the role of the Allied Forces, engaging “ferocious enemy forces across Italian mountain passes, breathtaking coastal vistas, and the sweeping deserts of North Africa.” In addition, the game will feature two distinct single-player experiences, four unique factions for multiplayer and co-op skirmish, and new gameplay mechanics.
